We are about to start building one of Florida's most hurricane proof house using: www.foxblocks.com which are ICF Blocks 2 layers of insulation (outside and inside) of the 6" thick with poured concrete walls with rebar.

Follow along with following weeks of construction as they happen.

I am happy to report that it appears that they won't be developing the area behind my house and it will be kept all natural.

The fence is 6' tall barbed wire that goes all around over 1,000 acres of land. Barbed wire will hurt the animals trying to cross through, under or over the fence. Barbed wire is terrible thing to put up in the woods. I like the idea of keeping people out from a natural preserve, but don't hurt the animals in the process.

Week 4:  Building the foundation up 36” higher than the area around. Building a hurricane proof house.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pWDrmjz2RPs

Once the foundation has been packed down tightly, or dried hard, we can begin to build the building. Purpose. Foundations provide the structure's stability from the ground: To distribute the weight of the structure over a large area in order to avoid overloading the underlying soil (possibly causing unequal settlement).

Week 5: Day 1:  02/16/2021:  Fence installation - Building hurricane proof ICF house in Frostproof FL.

Week 5:  Fencing nearly completed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bir55ScY4o8

Fence company arrived to put up more fencing. This isn't costing me anything for the fence (complete left side and complete back) to be installed because it is not my fence. The right side is a drainage ditch so I might not put one up on the right side. I will be putting up a fence in front with a solar powered remote-control gate in the driveway with an intercom system to the house.

The back 90' of the lot was left untouched. We left all trees, bushes and plants. This 90’ is for drainage if needed and it is about 9' below the foundation of the ICF house. Great drainage. Will never flood.

This Video starts two (2) lots over to the left from my lot.   I walk to the back, then over to the right - towards my lot.

The fence on the left side of my lot starts at 6 minutes 25 seconds into the video. I walk the left side of my lot towards the front and you can see the drainage area is about 9’.

This is going to be an ICF block home construction. Using Foxblocks.  If you want help with your plans, please contact me (prefer email). Facebook messenger too.

Week 6: Day 3:  02/19/2021:  Foundation preparing finished - Hurricane proof ICF house in Frostproof FL

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBzWhcautvI&t=3s

I personally painted the LakeSide signs white.  They were water stained, scratched from the branches that I also cut down from in front of them - all from 20 years of neglect.  No one else would, so I took it upon myself to paint it white again.  I left the letters since they are custom letters (raised Styrofoam brown letters).

Ready for Termite inspection, treatment.  Then the fun stuff starts.  Cement foundation, walls etc….  I will be sleeping in it once the walls and roof are up until we get windows and doors with locks.   I now have a trail camera, with cell ability (sends images when motion is detected, and solar battery charger).

Video: 2:35 to 3:40 shows how deep the trench around the back/side of the house is.  Notice the fence is normally 6’ tall except it is 12’ in this trench.  Great drainage.   Drone video starts at 3:55.

·         Finished the hand dig of the trenches for the foundation.

Week 7: Day 1:  02/20/2021:  3D_rendering - Hurricane proof ICF house in Frostproof FL

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8N21EA7q0fw&t=1s

No construction this week.  Now going to wait for termite treatment of the ground by termite treatment company and county inspector inspection.

3D rendering and more.

Heat/Air Conditioning average monthly estimate is $30 a month.

Being in southern half of Florida uses a lot of Central A/C and $30 a month is lower than most.

This energy savings is because of the ICF block walls, metal roof with extra insulation in the attic, special windows and doors.

02/27/2021:   Walking in Florida swamp.  Walking in the deep bush of central/southern Florida.

Will I see Florida Alligators on this walk?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7twkPflGLJM&t=1s

Walking in Florida swamp.    Did I see Florida Alligators?  NO.  Walking in the deep bush of central/southern Florida.

Walking northbound heading into a 3,500 acre nature preserve. Lots of areas to explore, will have to get some knee high waterproof boots to walk through some of the wetter areas to get to dry land behind them.

It was in the mid 80's Fahrenheit on 02/26/2021, 02/27/2021, 03/02/2021 and 03/12/2021 for my 4 short walks into the bush of southern Florida. I went a little further each day or in a different direction.   Kept running into wet areas.

I started at the cul-de-sac each time and didn’t see any alligators and only saw one very small snake.  Did not see any other animals or birds either though heard birds singing.

There were no mosquitoes, flies or nats much at all.  Some flies in the beginning of the walk on day 4 while in the very sandy area.    It is much easier to walk in Florida than in northern Minnesota or Wisconsin that have lots of insects.

In Florida I have worked or lived in six areas around central Florida and you can walk anytime or anywhere without bugs or insects bothering you at dusk, nighttime or daytime.

Multiple times I stopped walking when the dirt path turned into a couple inches of water and it wasn't easy to pass it. I went a little further or different directions each day.

Frostproof trail camera just installed today, already caught an animal on it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OwRJYeh9aZU

Just installed another trail camera on 02/23/2021.  Both are from www.spypoint.com but this new trail camera is much better than my original one located near the driveway.  This brand new trail camera has cellular and infrared.  It is run by battery that is solar charged: model: Link-Micro-S-LTE-V.

It automatically sends multiple pictures by cell signal once motion is detected.  It even sends pictures even at night in the dark because that just happened.  It

I just installed this new camera at 1:15pm.  It got dark at about 6:30pm.  And by 7:14pm it had already taken two pictures of a large animal of some kind via it’s infrared ability.   What kind of animal is this?   Probably a Feral cat.

Kayaking with my golden retriever - after building my new ICF block house.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvX997Ur_2E

Just bought a kayak for me and my future golden retriever.  Kayak should be delivered by mid-March.   This is my new dream, boating with my new golden that I will get soon after I move into my newly built hurricane proof ICF block house.

A friend that goes Kayaking with his golden retriever took some pictures.  My only difference is I would make sure my golden has a full life-jacket on at all times while on the boat in any water.

It's a 2 person tandem kayak or for me and my new golden.   Lifetime Sport Fisher Angler 10 ft Kayak.

Week 26:  Spray Insulation on Roof Decking of an ICF house 06/30/2021.  Garage ceiling was dry-walled and attic access ladder installed.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y96YtY7CgzA

FLORIDA = SUNSHINE STATE.  Let's stop the sun from heating up the Attic by stopping the sun & heat at the roof to give you a cooler attic.

Spraying the underside of the roof decking will keep the attic cool by stopping radiant heat from the sun from radiating through the roof into the attic.

BUT if you lay or spray insulation on your attic’s floor, then the entire attic will always be hot and muggy in hot Florida sunny/summer which will heat up your entire house.

The advantage of spray foam on the underside of the roof decking is that it eliminates hot, humid outdoor heat/air by stopping radiant heat from the sun from radiating through the roof and entering the attic.  Also stops the heat from entering through the roof vents.

Spraying the underside of the roof decking provides a conditioned and insulated attic space that can be durable and efficient in all climate zones.  If you put in the drywall ceilings in the house, then laid fiberglass insulation OR blow insulation into the attic floor (onto the drywall ceiling) you will always get a VERY hot attic, especially in Florida summers.

But by spraying the underside of roof's wood decking, the attic will stay a more even temperature.  A little more expensive but it will keep the heat out of the attic.

Week 32: ICF House Construction Security Cams.  CAT 5 hurricane proof house.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPuAsx5il9k
ICF House Video/Audio Security Systems working very well.

Security Cams:
1)  Records video, audio and still images
2)  Sends notification by cellular calls to owner
3)  Let's owner download all to desktop for authorities if needed

Catches: Wild Animals, construction crews working late, and more.

Inside cameras work well because they also record work going on inside 24/7/365 too, but all they have caught so far were the construction crews, site foreman and owner.

ICF House Applying Primer on the new stucco.
Getting ready to paint - hospital white.

CAT 5 hurricane proof house.

Primer is an undercoat that you paint onto the wall before painting it with color.   It seals the surface so the paint adheres to the surface instead of soaking into the wall.

ICF HOUSE BUILT TO WITHSTAND CAT 5 HURRICANES

·        This small ICF house is constructed to withstand a cat 5 hurricane with

its 6" Fox Block and maintain its integrity during intense winds because

of its small size and thick cement walls.

·        It's hurricane-resistant windows can resist category five hurricanes too.

If flying debris does hit a window, the added protection will keep the

glass from breaking up into large sharp pieces (like your windshield).

·        This house's HIP metal roof design can withstand cat5 hurricane with

winds speeds up to 180  mph which is well over the 120+ mph when

Hurricane Irma that hit this very neighborhood in 2017.

·        Monolithic foundation that was built up 36” higher than the ground around it.

·        Thick metal HIP style roof (really wind resistance).

·        Commercial grade wind/Impact resistance steel doors and garage door.

UPDATED: Why I can't take the shots today. Maybe later!!!
https://youtu.be/LmS5Re3AqVw
Why I can't and won't take the shots that many have taken: -----

The democrats called Trump and Republicans like myself conspiracy nuts when we said the disease came from the Wuhan-laboratory.

Well, we were proven right. The virus did come from a Chinese laboratory that Dr. Fauci helped to fund. ----- Fauci is a moron. This was man made. Designed in a Chinese laboratory.

Why would anyone create this in any country? -----

Fauci is a moron. In the 1980's there is video of him saying that we need to wear masks to prevent the spread of AIDS. Well, that was a lie. Masks do not prevent the spread of AIDS. -----

Fauci is a moron. Remember March 2020 where Fauci said we need 15 days to flatten the curve? Everyone needs to stay at home & mask up! Well, we know that was a lie... -----

Florida Turtles

What kind of turtles are these? Ants "moving" from their summer house to their winter house.

Box turtles or another kind? Did you know that ants can be "snowbirds" - living in one home in the summer and moving to another home in the winter?
